The Influence Of Thought

In order to understand the power of suggestion through affirmation, you need to have a solid understanding of the influence of thought. A doctor named Mick Hall once said: “The principal of focused attention has established the following as an absolute law; whatever we consistently hold the focus of our attention upon becomes the fabric of our future circumstances.” This doctor was exactly right. Our thoughts influence every aspect of our lives.

The beliefs and thoughts that we possess are all translated into the feelings that we feel, the emotions that we experience and all directly impact the experiences that we have in life. This is why positive affirmation and the power of suggestion are so important to your overall well-being. The “self-talk” that you engage in will directly impact the way that you feel, the actions that occur in your life and the outcomes that you directly experience.

The Power Of Suggestion

In order to effectively understand the power of suggestion, it is important to become familiar with a term called “Auto-Suggestion”. This is a process of communication that occurs between the thoughts of the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. The thoughts that we allow to remain in the conscious part of our mind reaches the subconscious aspect of the mind.

These thoughts remain in this section of the mind and influence us and our lives directly. It does not matter if the thoughts are considered to be positive or considered to be negative.

This is why it is so important to ensure that we each engage in positive affirmation on a regular basis. As with anything, positive input equals positive results and negative input equals negative results.

By using the power of suggestion in a positive manner, we will experience positive results and/or experiences. However, by not ensuring that our affirmations are positive, we will experience negative results.

In order to effectively use positive statements and the power of suggestion to create the life that you desire, you must first decide what it is that you truly want out of life. One of the most productive steps that you may take is to write down what you would like to enjoy in life. Examples you may put include:

The ones highlighted above are the most common based on my experiences in discussing positive affirmation with various people throughout my life. Regardless of whether these are what you want or not are irrelevant. The point is, you just need to write down the top ten to twenty things that you desire the most in life.

Once you have made your list, you should then make a list that includes a positive affirmation with each item that you have outlined on your list. The following list a few examples that you may use:

I am a healthy person. I will continue to make choices in my life that will ensure that I remain healthy. These choices include eating healthy foods, eating in moderation and exercising regularly. I am an awesome person with a lot of skills and talents. My self-esteem is high and I will continue to ensure that my self-esteem is high. I am happy. I will continue to make choices that make me happy.
